PERSONAL STATEMENT
If you’ve ever wondered what the best version of yourself feels and looks like, my office is a great place for you to explore and discover that! I am energized by helping clients to understand, pursue, and achieve what is important to them. I create an environment in which my clients can been seen and heard, which is something that can be missing in their everyday lives. I have successfully worked with clients struggling with anxiety, grief & loss, couple/marital issues, and those who experience challenges related to their relationship with food and/or their body. I am an LGBTQ+-Affirming therapist and have expertise in providing care and guidance for those who are exploring gender identity, sexual orientation, and/or relationship issues.
My work is results-oriented. I help clients to clarify their goals, challenge them to make their goals happen, and support them so they can stay the course to success. My focus is on how to solve their problem rather than solely on why they have the problem. I am versed in several therapeutic orientations and tend to favor Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). I practice from an individualized perspective, catering to meet the needs of my clients rather than offering therapy in a “one size fits all” framework.
I have been licensed since 1993 and am the founding partner and Executive Director of NPCS. My personal style is interactive, empathic, warmly direct, occasionally humorous, and I am respectful of an individual’s values and choices.
